Medicine Wheel
Medicine Wheel is a collaboration of great musicians that started strummin' in 2012. Prolific songwriter Charley Orlando and guitar great Michael Vincitore stared an acoustic duo and were playing pub dates in the Syracuse area. The duo was great fun; but there was a desire to take that collaboration to the next level. Enter a rhythm section that has been playing together for over 15 years; Aaron Fried on bass and Marc Stell on drums. The combined talents produced a wonderful synergy that we all know as Medicine Wheel.
What is a Medicine Wheel gig like... Well, it’s a pretty good time!
The members of the band have a wide array of influences that always make their way onto the stage. You can expect to see a variety of music represented, from the Grateful Dead and Rolling Stones to Pearl Jam to Tom Petty sprinkling in jambands like Phish. The band plays a variety of originals, as well. Americana, bluegrass, Motown, and rock and roll are proudly on display whenever the Wheel is in motion!
Each member is constantly pushing themselves and the other members of the band to improve the sound and direction of the music. For that reason, each night is new adventure. You might expect to see a stripped down set with acoustic guitars and upright bass one night and everything on full electric the next. One thing is for sure, you’re going to want to dance, and dance you shall!
