N&V Biography
Bob Nodzo and Jim Van Arsdale began performing together as members of Spellbound in the late 90's. As members of this group they were voted Best Regional Party Band by readers of the Citizen Newspaper in 2001. It was during this period that Bob and Jm started performing acoustic shows featuring diverse covers. Tunes from Frank Sinatra, Creed, Fats Waller, Neil Diamond and Greenday found there way into a N&V set. The Citizen Newspaper entertainment columnist, Erica Gellar characterized their music by writing in 2007, "When "Mr. Bojangles" meets someone looking for a "Heart of Gold," its likely that listeners will find the acoustic duo Bob Nodzo and Jim Van Arsdale." The acoustic format is perfect for their blend of blues, jazz, rock guitar and vocal styling's.
N&V's musical journey has included recording original compositions and continued performances with a wealth of some of the best musicians in the Finger Lakes region. Bob has shared the stage and worked on projects with such personalities as Joe Whiting, Mark Doyle, Kevin Dorsey and Bob Piorun to name a few. Nodzo is currently the bass player and lead vocalist for The Works. In 2010, Van Arsdale's song "High Road" from his CD, I Believe, received a Top 40 Blues Track Award from listeners at OurStage.com. Van Arsdale also performed with rhythm and blues group, Diana Jacobs & Midnite Mood, who was nominated for a SAMMY award in 2013 for their self-titled debut album, Midnite Mood.
